Sciatica Nerve Pain Adjustment, Therapy + Treatment in Cambridge, Ontario

Sciatica is a painful nerve condition involving the sciatic nerve. The sciatic nerve is the largest (and one of the most important) nerves in your body. It starts in your lower back at the base of your spine, where five different nerve roots join together. From there, it runs down both legs by passing first deep within your buttock, then behind your knee, where it separates into several branches across your calf, runs down your ankle, and finally ends at your heel and base of your foot.

It’s quite a journey, and understandably, when the sciatic nerve is not happy, any number of painful symptoms can develop. When clients come to our chiropractic clinic in Cambridge, Ontario, for help with their sciatica pain, the symptoms they are struggling with range from mild to severe. They include pain, burning, numbness, or weakness - sometimes in combination. Pain can be located all along the sciatic nerve, which means anywhere in the lower back, buttock, leg or foot.

Why Call a Chiropractor for sciatica nerve treatment?

Sometimes clients reach out to Mitchell Chiropractic specifically seeking sciatica nerve pain treatment. Other times, they know what they are experiencing from a symptomatic perspective, but aren’t sure of the cause until we identify it during our initial examination and analysis.

Chiropractic is a highly effective sciatica nerve treatment, because the entire practice is founded on restoring the nervous system to complete wellness to help restore the body to health.

Our bodies are incredible machines, composed of numerous highly complex, sophisticated, interconnected systems. At the heart of it all is the nervous system, which keeps everything in sync, essentially unifying all of the body’s functions to keep everything working as one.

But life can be hard on a body. Accidents, injuries, physical strain, disease, health events, and even just the grind of modern life can all take their toll on the body and knock (or shift) the spine out of alignment. Sometimes it’s a singular, notable event, and other times it’s a series of tiny, tiny, tiny imbalances that build up to something more.

When this happens - when the spine, which is the main highway of the nervous system, is out of alignment - it’s harder for the body to stay in sync. Communication is blocked or impeded between various systems in the body, and between various parts of the body and the brain. And when this happens in such a way that impacts the sciatic nerve, that’s when you have sciatica.

When you come to our clinic seeking nerve pain adjustment, it’s not just alleviation of your symptoms that we are focused on (though that is of course a high priority). We are addressing the cause: working to adjust the spine to restore alignment, improve communication within the body, and allow the body to heal itself by functioning optimally, as it is designed to do.

If you’re seeking relief from pain, contact Mitchell Chiropractic today. We have been providing sciatica nerve pain therapy as part of holistic chiropractic care in Cambridge for over 30 years, and we are here to help.
